  Professor Junghyun Kim obtained a doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2000 and PhD degree at Seoul National University in 2006.

  Professor Junghyun Kim is internationally known for his research in pathology and phamacology, particularly in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications and novel drug discovery using natural products. His research efforts established the role of advanced glycation endproducts (AGEs) in the progression of various chronic diseases This research has led to the development and testing of several drugs that have progressed to clinical trials in diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
